Design Agency Gives IKEA Food Packaging A Fresh, Minimalistic Feel

To help the home-furnishing company IKEA enhance its Swedish identity, design agency Stockholm Design Lab created a design and packaging concept for its various food products.

The IKEA food packaging were given simple designs with large pictures and blank spaces.

The minimalist and clean design aesthetic was to provoke viewers’ interest in the product—but also to clearly present the food in an honest and appetizing way.

“The range of products is aimed at attracting food lovers who are interested and curious about different food cultures and eating habits, particularly Swedish ones,” the design agency wrote on its website.

“The products should always express the key values: reliability, quality and Swedishness.”
