Interactive Light Installation Can Be Controlled Via Mobile Phones

UK artistic duo Aether & Hemera have installed a beautiful light installation in the Middle Dock of the Canary Wharf.

Called ‘Voyage’, the installation features 300 floating paper boats equipped with colored LED lights that come alive at night.

Designed as an interactive installation, people can engage with it by changing the ‘behavior of the lights’ from their mobile phones—via a WiFi network.

According to the artists, the installation “invites everyone to make a transition from reality to imagination, reliving childhood memories and embracing our freedom; blurring the lines between the real and hyper-real.”

The Voyage will remain in the wharf until 15 February 2013.
