A Lamp Made Of Sugar That Emits A Shimmering Light





German design studio Voxel has created a sweet pendant lamp—pun intended—that is made of sugar.



Named “Suesslicht”, the cone-shaped lamp shade is made by pressing a sugar crystal and water mixture at high pressure, a process that produces an ultra-thin structure that allows light to shine through.



The snow-colored shade is mounted on an industrial-looking butterfly nut, which holds the LED light bulb together with a colorful textile cable that connects it to the ceiling.



When light passes through the fine sugar crystals, it takes on a pretty shimmery quality—see more images of this unusual lamp below:
