Patience is a virtue, and patience is something English artist Mark Webber has for his art.

Webber intricately carves giant typographic linocut maps of famous cities—such as London, Paris, New York, Amsterdam and Berlin.

He first researches on the city, then designs the map, and spends months carving out street names, districts, landmarks and buildings within the area—backwards, so that when inked and printed, it’s the right way round.

When this is done, he uses steamrollers to ink the linocuts to print the super-size typographic maps onto paper.
