Poignant Campaign Uses ‘Defaced’ Photos To Show The Reality Of Alzheimer’s

To encourage funding for Alzheimer’s disease, Milan-based designer Domenico Liberti used a series of family photos to create this arresting campaign.

In each shot, the faces of family members have been erased and replaced with the background, emphasizing the loss of memory and disorientation that afflict the patients’ daily life.

The word “Alzheimer” overlaps each blank face, a subtle approach to raising awareness for this mentally destructive illness.
