Chart: What British People Say VS What They Really Mean

Website “Today I Learn Something New” has put up a humorous chart that would help you decipher the coded speech of British people.



Supposedly an “Anglo-EU Translation Guide”, the table is presented in three columns—“What the British say”, “What the British mean” and “What others understand”.



As you scroll down the list, you would realize that the British are not really the kind who say exactly what they mean—in fact, they often say the exact opposite of what they mean.
