Against the backdrop of the current legal battle between Apple and Samsung over alleged imitation, Apple’s new print ad with its cheeky copy-writing leaves an even deeper impression than it would have under normal circumstances.
Promoting the company’s green policy and use of renewable energy, the ad is headed by the statement, “There are some ideas we want every company to copy.”
The body text of the ad makes the dig at rivals even more obvious by reading, “There’s one area where we actually encourage others to imitate us […] When everyone makes the environment a priority, we all benefit.”
While Apple had been criticized for its green record in the past, it has since made a lot of improvement—for instance, all of its data centers are powered by renewable energy.
