Infographic: What Happens To Your Social Media Profiles After Death

Internet marketing team WebpageFX has put together an interesting infographic that shows us what happens to our online presence once we have passed on.

According to the chart, Twitter will automatically delete inactive accounts after six months, but your username can never be used by another person.

Other platforms such as Facebook, LinkedIn and Google+ will not deactivate the accounts unless the person’s demise is reported. In the case of Google+, the user can actually pre-set their accounts to be deactivated at any time.

Family members or friends can also help to deactivate an account by providing the required documents such as a death certificate and an ID.
