In what seems to be the most bizarre trend of late, Weibo users in China are posting selfies of their unshaven armpits online for an unofficial "competition" where participants stop grooming their underarms.
While most photos feature girls unabashedly posing with their body hair, some appear to flaunt smooth, hairless armpits.
These armpit selfies do make one wonder if they were posted in retaliation to social norms imposed on girls’ body image.
