If you love the timeless look of analog photos but find it hard to resist the convenience of snapping photos with your smartphones, this new fuss-free device lets you enjoy the best of both worlds easily.
Called ‘SnapJet’, the mobile photo printer scans a photo from your smartphone’s screen before printing it on Fujifilm Instax or Polaroid 300.
Unlike most photo printers that need to be paired physically with smartphones or synced via WiFi or Bluetooth, SnapJet simply requires you to place your smartphone face-down on the device for it to work.
According to the SnapJet team, the smartphone’s retina display makes it possible for the printer to develop a photo at a resolution of up to 1,200 dpi.
“Smartphone displays like iPhone’s retina display have achieved amazing resolutions at 326ppi or higher, and they are all carefully color corrected. The light emitted from them could produce a beautiful print on instant film,” wrote the team on their Kickstarter page.
